MEET THE CELEBRANT
I’m A.C. Warden and I specialize in weddings, commitment ceremonies, and vow renewals, and have officiated at a wide variety of other ceremonies including memorial services, house blessings, and seasonal ceremonies. I have been trained and certified in this work by the Celebrant USA Foundation ( www.celebrantusa.com ) and was ordained as a non-denominational minister in the Universal Brotherhood Movement (UBM). I enjoy helping others highlight the milestones in their lives and love crafting ceremonies that are particularly relevant to our lives today.
In a way I have always been a celebrant. When I was 7 years old and attending a Lutheran school, we were required to attend church every week. My family was not Lutheran and we didn’t always go to church. At those times, I led ceremonies in our living room. These were my first experiences with celebrancy. As an adult, I have often been asked by friends to officiate at memorial services, house blessings, seasonal and civic ceremonies. When two of my lesbian friends asked me to perform their commitment ceremony, my dedication to celebrancy was cemented.
In my other life I am a filmmaker. I have produced, directed, and edited documentary films and videos for almost 30 years. To learn more about this aspect of my life, visit www.cherchez.org. Both filmmaking and celebrancy exercise my talents – researching, writing, producing, and public speaking.
Marking the milestones in my own life is very important to me. Let me help you mark the milestones in yours.
